Feature Description

A study in precision, purity, and site-driven complexity, the 2021 Accendo Estate Laurea is a masterfully crafted expression of Napa Valley’s most esteemed hillside and benchland vineyards. Composed of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Petit Verdot, it reflects the global perspective and refined touch of winemaker Nigel Kinsman, whose career spans Australia, Tuscany’s Tolaini estate, and iconic Napa properties including Araujo and Bella Oaks.

Sourced from a constellation of elite vineyard sites, the wine draws its structure and intensity from Diamond Mountain, its lift and aromatic depth from Terravina Vineyard overlooking Lake Hennessey, its density and mineral precision from Ecotone (formerly David Abreu’s Thorevilos), and its generosity from M-Bar Ranch along the Oakville and Yountville benchlands. Together, they form a symphony of terroirs united by a singular vision.

Hand-harvested and fermented in stainless steel before aging 21 months in new and used French oak, Laurea is produced in limited quantities (just over 600 cases) and showcases the estate’s commitment to balance, transparency, and finesse.

The wine opens with an inviting bouquet of fresh blueberries, pluots, and dark brambly tones, layered with subtle accents of tobacco leaf and delicate baking spices. On the palate, it seamlessly marries earth-driven nuance with ripe, polished fruit, supported by super-fine, silk-like tannins that carry the wine into a long, harmonious finish. Awarded 96 points by Jeb Dunnuck, the 2021 Laurea is both expressive in its youth and deeply promising for the decades ahead.

A refined, terroir-forward red that exemplifies modern Napa elegance, crafted with intention and extraordinary attention to detail.
