Feature Description

Sourced from the rugged slopes of Oakville Ranch on Napa Valley’s eastern hillsides, the 2022 Patria Cabernet Sauvignon is a striking expression of high-elevation Napa Valley terroir. Crafted by acclaimed winemaker Tony Biagi, whose experience includes celebrated estates such as PlumpJack, CADE, and Hourglass, this wine reflects a philosophy centered on precision, balance, and the authentic voice of the vineyard.

The Oakville Ranch Vineyard, perched above the valley floor on rocky, well-drained soils, produces Cabernet Sauvignon of remarkable concentration and structure. Elevation and hillside exposure allow the fruit to ripen slowly, preserving natural acidity while developing the depth and mineral character that define mountain-grown Napa Cabernet.

Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, primarily Clone 7, the wine showcases one of Napa Valley’s most revered Cabernet selections, valued for its expressive fruit profile and refined tannin structure. Careful vineyard selection and aging in French oak allow the vineyard’s character to shine while adding subtle layers of spice and texture.

Produced in extremely limited quantities (roughly 200 cases) this wine represents a rare glimpse into one of Oakville’s most compelling hillside sites. In the glass, it reveals an alluring bouquet of black cherry, red currant, cocoa, and delicate floral notes. The palate is rich and layered with dark berries, baking spice, and mineral undertones, supported by polished tannins and vibrant structure that carry through to a long, elegant finish.

Awarded 94 points by Jeb Dunnuck, the 2022 Patria Cabernet Sauvignon stands as a beautifully composed expression of Oakville hillside Cabernet.
